Very clever people here. I've long thought that there should be a line of greeting cards for jw's but never took time to come up with a few to show off. I'm glad that someone else thought of it too and got the ball rolling 'cause it's a goshdurn good idea and just chock full of humor potential. :)

Let's make JW-friendly greeting cards...
by exwitless indid you ever think about the fact that when you were a dub, it was pointless to buy a box of all occasion greeting cards?
it annoyed the heck out of me, because you couldn't use the ones for birthdays or most of the sympathy cards (because they often said "lord" or "god" in them).
so what would a box of jw greeting cards contain?.

How Many Here Actually Lock Their Doors At Night?
by minimus ini'm shocked by how many people i know who live in larger towns that do not lock their doors or windows.....do you?

I keep everything locked up and I live in a really quiet area. My mother has FINALLY started locking her house up when she leaves. She lives in a very small town but that means nothing. You just don't know who's lurking about.
As it happens, my mom had been away from her home for about two years and a day or so after she returned she ran into a friend of hers in town. That friend lived well away from town on a REALLY rural road and that night someone broke into her house and killed her. Crime has never been solved. It still took A LOT of harping and prodding to get my mom to take this seriously. -

The Q Drum~ Reinventing The Wheel~ Why Didn't I think of This?
by Sparkplug inthe q-drum, a low cost rollable water container for developing countries.. the burden of fetching water, invariably over long distances by cumbersome and far too often, unhygienic means, is all too evident in rural africa.. the idea of the q-drum originated in response to the needs of rural people for clean and potable water, as well as easing the burden of conveying it.
the solution had to be simple, water in adequate quantities is by far too heavy to carry, by rolling the water in a cylindrical container and not carrying it seemed to be the only solution.
the container had to be durable, and breakable handles & other attachments would simply not do - in many parts of africa even a hammer & a nail are scarce commodities.. the q-drum addresses these needs by providing a simplistic, cost effective and durable solution: the uniqueness of the q-drum lies in the idea and design of the longitudinal shaft or doughnut hole, and is acknowledged by the fact that worldwide patents have been granted for the concept, thus confirming the novelty & inventiveness of the design.

Fantastic ideas!! Gives a new take on the expression "Dammit, you kids go outside and PLAY. Play harder!" Kids playing in eight hour shifts. Could be a bad thing.

Kool-Aid Campaign anyone???
by SnakesInTheTower inso i was thinking with the new kool-aid edition of the craptower and the (now proven and confirmed) september 07 km basically telling us to only look at society literature, and the light getting brighter and brighter the noose getting tighter and tighter.. .
why not start a campaign to let the society we have noticed.
i would love to hear your thoughts and this wont cost any of us much money or time.. buy 2 packages of kool-aid (make sure it is that brand)...and preferably grape.

How's about this for starters then? Seems a bit fitting eh?
Oh, and as an aside, I remember watching a documentary on Jonestown not too long ago and there was a shot of a trunk that did contain Kool-Aid. That is not to say that Flavor-Aid wasn't the unfortunate drink of the day, just that Kool-Aid was on site as well. And yes, I know it makes no difference.

It's amazing but to the "faithful" this has long been the mindset hasn't it? I mean it's a closed loop. Dubs have the truth and the writings to back that up so why would anyone that is "faithful" look anywhere else. All other material is trying to draw you away or merely uninformed and mistake prone -yeah, I know that's LOL funny. And hasn't that included books written by jw apologists?
As far as their view on the bible, that was shown ages ago when studies in the scriptures "appeared" - anyone that relied on the bible alone would "soon go off into darkness". Yada, yada...
It will be taken in stride by most. Mother still knows best after all. -

I live in Mexico now. It didn't use to be Mexico, but it is now. :(
Someone mentioned needing trees and mountains. Scenery would be really nice but I'm not sure I could do as well financially as I'm doing here in, ahem, Mexico. :)
